We're home - but what day is it?

Evelyn was finally released from the hospital in Indianapolis on Friday the 7th around 5 pm. We had been warned of a snow storm hitting Louisville starting Friday night with predictions of up to 14 inches. We decided that we'd rather just go for it rather than get snowed out of Louisville for a couple of days (since 95% of the baby's stuff was there). So, I loaded up all our stuff (including the dogs) beforehand and we set out straight from the hospital. The weather predictions were correct for once and it took us nearly 5 hours to travel the 125 miles - not getting us home until around 10! In the 48 hours previous we had about 5 hours of sleep so we literally crashed when we made it. Evelyn didn't even know what was happening and slept the whole way - meaning she was up several times during the night. We've just gotten ourselves somewhat together but have a lot of adjustments to make for the lack of sleep. For all you parents, we can now relate to the euphoria you feel when you get more than an hour of consecutive sleep. We think it might be Monday now.....

A few pictures of our beautiful baby if for nothing more than bragging!

Momma's baby.

It's all very serious you know.

I'm bored, let's eat. Open wide!

See you later.

SHE'S HERE!

Finally no more waiting - Evelyn Martine Smith joined us at 4:08P on March 5th. She weighed 7 lbs 15 ozs and is 20.5 inches long. A few of our favorites for your enjoyment ;)

Still waiting......

As of 11:35A EST, no baby. We've decided the thing about the moon is a myth. Had an Ob appt on Monday and he was impressed with how far she's progressed in a week. While he feels comfortable inducing as early as Monday, he's betting she won't make it. If Danielle keeps up her jumping jacks, squats and lunges, it may be earlier than later (you think she's ready to deliver?). We can definitely tell the baby's lined up for the downhill slide - all we can really feel now are her feet/legs/butt near Danielle's ribs.

Warm it up Danielle! She's about to.

Danielle is now past the 37 week mark and is apparently considered full term. She had a OB visit on Monday the 18th and we've been advised to get ready for an earlier-than-40-week delivery. He feels she's very unlikely to make it to March 8th. She's been having warm-up contractions that stop her in her tracks but they haven't been regular and consistent yet. Not to mention she's dropped quite a bit and feels like she would explode like a balloon if she got stuck with a needle.

There's a full-moon this Thursday.......

Holy BOB!

As good parents-to-be, we would have no part of our little girl feeling deprived. So, we were sure to get her oversized, bulky transportation as well - her own SUV already! (Thanks MeMe)
Sorry Sherms, no BOB for you.

Nursery Pics

At Cara Miller's request.... This is in the Louisville house and we're planning to do much the same in the Indy house.

Basically finished, but we have a couple more things for wall decor. See our BOB stroller in the corner? Danielle can't wait to start running again - and soon with Evie along with her.

If dentistry doesn't pan out for me, I may become a professional wall stenciler. Don't look too close, though, the lines aren't perfectly clean. But no chance of something falling into the crib!

Strike a Pose!

As I type this she's actually 34 weeks - only 6 weeks to full term - YIKES! This is a picture from 32 weeks - and she's not changed visibly very much since but she's sure feeling it. No new ultrasounds of la principessa, though.
